Hydraulic Start Up
Turn Panel power bar I on
Turn Panel power bar II on
Touch Hydraulic Pump Control Panel touch-screen
to activate
Touch Start - three seconds later the pump starts (the green indicator light activates)
Press Reset button of Panic Control (the green light will lit)
Press Pressure 'On' pushbutton on Logic Module to activate pressure solenoid
Wait for one minute while pressure is built up to 3000 psi operating pressure (check pressure gauge on valve)
Do NOT turn on Forward Flow until the controller has been started
Controller & Experimental Control Startup
Turn on RENSHAW
Unlock SPINDLE (password required - see Ross Wagner)
Start a MATLAB session on SPINDLE
Set path by typing 'exp_startup' in the command window
computer will prompt the user if RENSHAW has not completed booting
Press any key to continue
Ensure the actuator is in zero position and hit any key
A text message will indicate that the controller has been started
Accept defaults to initialize I/O devices and filters settings
Turn on Forward Flow
Press FWD Flow 'On' pushbutton on Logic Module
Warm up
The actuator should be warmed up by running random or sequence trials continuously for 15-20 minutes
Oil temperature should be above 35 C (see strip thermometer on high pressure pipe)
Shutdown
Press FWD Flow 'Off' pushbutton
Press Pressure 'Off' pushbutton
Touch 'Stop' on Hydraulic Pump Control Panel touchscreen
Turn off both Panel power bars I and II
