Torque Transducers - standing

The experimental apparatus has two Lebow® 2110-5k torque transducers to measure the torque produced by the subject on the foot pedals.

The transducers are flanged reaction torque sensors that have a capacity of 565Nm and a torsional stiffness of 103941Nm/rad.

Interfacing

The signal from the torque transducer is processed via a strain gage conditioner module. The module needs to be calibrated according to the characteristics of the torque transducer. (See Operating Instructions for particular device.)

Calibration

Each torque transducer + strain gage conditioner module is calibrated to yield 20 Nm/V. The sign convention is:

  • Positive torque: Dorsiflexion
  • Negative torque: Plantarflexion
